Don't Forget Your Camera On Your Next Fishing Trip

Here's a little scenario for you: You're out fishing with your buddy when he hooks into a trophy. It's a BIG fish and after a long fight, the two of you finally land the monster. You're both incredibly excited and very happy to have witnessed such an epic moment. Then you realize that you forget your camera, and of course, your friend doesn't have one either. There are going to be no pictures of the monster on this day. This scenario sucks, I've been through it. You're left with nothing but a great fish story. This is of course assuming that you fish like me, and release fish after you catch them.

If you are a catch and release angler, a camera is a pretty important thing. Technology has made it that much easier for all of us to have a quality camera with us at all times. And no I'm not talking about you camera phone. Those cameras aren't worth the price of admission. I am talking about digital cameras though. Digital cameras have become very affordable and the quality picture they produce is quite amazing. Digital cameras have become small enough that they can fit in most pockets on a fishing vest as well. If you do decide to go with a digital camera, either buy a water resistant one or make sure you store it in a Ziploc bag. We don't want your camera getting ruined if you have an accident.

Another option, which I've used in the past, is to carry a disposable camera with you. I used to carry a waterproof disposable camera in my fishing vest that is before I got my digital camera. The disposable camera worked fine and is still a viable and less expensive option. The only issue that I ever had with my disposable waterproof camera is that it was quite bulky. It almost took up an entire pocket in my fishing vest by itself. The digital camera I have now is very small and I don't even realize it's there.

The bottom line is that you remember your camera on your next fishing trip. Especially if you're a catch and release angler, as I am. It makes no difference whether you have a digital or disposable camera, just don't forget the camera. You never know when you might run into something on the water that you'd like to capture. I've seen sun rises and sunsets that bring a tear to my eye, and I'm glad IU had a camera with my to capture the essence of them.

Fishing Tid Bits How To Fish Part 3

Well I am back with my third article and it is exciting to see how many people are interested in the fun of fishing. These articles are meant for everyone. Some of the more experienced anglers probably know a lot about what I am talking about already but I think back to when I knew nothing about fishing. I wish there would have been something like that. Eventually this will be an eBook so take advantage of it while you can.

Take The Little Ones

If done right getting your kids started fishing at an early age could mean a lifetime of great memories or if done wrong it could turn them off of this great past time for ever. This is something that is going to be enjoyed by both of you so no matter what make sure you?re always having fun. When you go with the kids you want to make sure you do what the kids want. Most times a kid is going to want to fish with a float because it?s fun to see it go up and down when the fish bite. However if he wants to cast the biggest Len Thompson you have in your tackle box and your fishing for perch, that?s okay to because he is learning to cast and just maybe there is a big pike hanging out somewhere.

You have to make sure you pick the right spot to take your young child fishing. If your shore fishing then it would be neat if there were a park and a washroom close by the fishing spot. If they are going to roam make sure you can watch them. If you?re fishing out of a boat you?re going to want to fish close to the banks so you can get to the shore rather quickly to take regular stretch breaks and washroom breaks. Make sure you pack an interesting shore lunch and take time to ask the kids how they are enjoying their fishing trip. You do not want to be in the middle of the lake. I don?t care how good the fishing is because the kids don?t care either. They are going to get bored and if there?s nothing else to do they will want to go home.

Remember this trip is about the kids. So you want to help them as much as you can. Even though the fish are biting you want to focus on the kid?s experience. You can encourage them to put their own bait on the hook. Teach them to cast and reel. Something else to remember is don?t force your kids to go with you. That?s going to turn them off in a hurry. When you do take them make sure you keep the trip short. If their ready to go home then maybe that?s what should happen. Don?t ever get mad at them for making mistakes. Just because they end up with a birds nest doesn?t mean you should be getting angry. Remember this trip is about the kids so if you want to do some hard core fishing then maybe the kids should stay home this trip.

We have to make sure the kids are comfortable. You want to try and take them on a nice bright sunny day. We definitely don?t want kids relating fishing to cold miserable weather. Be sure to take extra clothes so you can layer them as the weather changes. Small things like bug spray and sun screen are going to be you most important accessories on this day. Make sure you have lots of treats and a good life jacket. If the weather turns bad do not force your child to fish in it. Cast and reel or maybe just jigging off the edge of the boat or dock is the best. You want to keep it simple for now. It?s not a good time to try and teach them to fly-fish or back troll.

At the beginning I would suggest fishing for pan fish. The kids are going to have a lot more fun catching 30, eight inch perch as opposed to one five pound pike. Your job is going to be to try and get them into a school of fish and size doesn?t matter. Perch and crappies can still hit very hard especially if you find a school of hungry ones. Remember to the kids every fish is a trophy no matter what the size. So what this is all getting at is that you want to make sure that the kids see that fishing is one of the funniest things you can do.

This will be the end of my third edition of my series on fishing. Keep reading my articles as they will get more informative and detailed as time goes on.

Atlantic Salmon Fishing

In the past, fishing for Atlantic salmons was mostly for sustenance. Caught on river runs or on the open sea, these salmons are fished by hundreds. In fact, a number of fishing techniques have evolved to catch these Atlantic salmons as they return to their spawning grounds en masse. Icelandic nomads cut holes on frozen lakes to fish for salmons beneath a layer of ice. Polar bears have learned how to dive and fish for salmons, often displaying superb agility and finesse underwater. And several hunters have copied the formula, teaching hunter dogs to dive into freezing waters to catch salmon themselves. Even the trout tickling have of course evolved on this part of the globe.

For the people on the northern hemisphere, it?s true they have long respected the salmon. Northern indigenous tribes hold ceremonies on shores to honor their first return of the year. Wooden and earthen vessels are adorned with salmon carvings.

Today, Atlantic salmon fishing is done mostly for sports; the centuries of fishing Atlantic salmon have extensively decimated populations. Several the commercial Atlantic salmon was bought away by concerned communities and sports institutions that are alarmed by the rapidly declining salmon specie. While it is still fished for sustenance, most commercial Atlantic salmons are now farmed, grown on fisheries or planted on unoccupied water sheds with sea access, where the salmons would still make their seasonal runs.

Atlantic Salmon fishing is still available for every anglers to enjoy; though some areas would require a strict ?catch and release? agenda. While you may not be particularly keen in releasing your catches, you can still measure and take photos with the catch before releasing it back into the water.

Bass Fishing For Fun

Bass fishing in the USA is a great combination of sports, adventure and recreation. Bass fishing ,means pursuing black bass, a type of fish. Bass fishing has caught the fancy of Americans. You will find morning shows on TV about bass fishing. You will find thousands of websites exclusively on bass fishing. Bass fish is not about catching and eating. It is about catching and releasing.

Bass fishing is a great sports which doesn't need the skills possessed by a football athlete or the resilience of an acrobat. You need to be obsessed with the 'catch'. Hours of practicing can elevate you to the level of being called a pro. Bass fishing is about catching various species of bass - large mouth bass, small mouth bass, Kentucky bass, spotted boss, etc. Experts opine that the beginners should start bass fishing in smaller ponds. They should avoid large lakes for this purpose. Once you have gained enough confidence, then only move to deeper areas in lakes. Bass fish loves to play hide and seek. Their natural habitat is behind rocks or plants or any such structures in the water body. Look for bass in such places. It is not necessary that the fish will be around large structures only. In fact, you have an equal probability of finding fish near a smaller structure.

Bass fish have a great vision - they can easily see in the night as well. Their see and feel organs work simultaneously. Bass fish are also supposed to have taste buds outside their mouths and inside too. This can help them avoid any unwanted situation. These characteristics make bass fishing such an exciting sports activity and a great pastime for people in leisure time.

One needs a set of equipment for bass fishing. This includes a pole, reel, hook and baits. Baits are available in many varieties chiefly, jigs, crank bait, spinner bait and plastic worms. It is recommended to beginners to start with crank baits and then advance themselves through spinner baits to plastic worms. Plastic worms need the most skills and practice. While Crank baits are suitable for beginners, it is the spinner baits which are popular among experienced anglers and seasoned fishermen.

There are many tournaments of bass fishing. Premier among these are American Bass Anglers Fishing Tournament, Superbass tournament, etc. Enthusiasts from all over the country take part in the tournaments. Bass fishing brings so much excitement today that it has become the most valuable freshwater sports industry.

Charter Fishing (Big And Small Game Tours)

Whether you live in California, Florida or Hawaii many people have not experienced the thrill and excitement of ocean fishing. Many think of fishing as boring and unadventurous. Shore fishing is what comes to most peoples mind and the picture of one standing for hours on end tossing a fishing rod into the water and retrieving it repeatedly with no catch.

Face it, how many fish live near the shoreline? A good amount! but I wouldnt say alot, so to be where the fish are you need to be in the water away from land where the depths of the water are greater and the underwater landscape is more abundant.

Dont get me wrong though we are talking about salt water fishing in the ocean and not a lake or riverbed, because the later type of fishing is totally different. Im talking about ocean fishing at its best and funnest, yes a relaxing trip just a couple miles out to sea where the fish bite more frequent and the views of land and horizon are breathtaking.

Charter fishing but for small game is a new concept that targets those who are not into hard core big game fishing but rather for those that want to cast a line and catch something they wouldn't catch while trolling from land.

Small Game Ocean fishing is fun because the whole focus is not only fishing but having a good time while enjoying a short 2 hr boat ride with family and friends. Depending on the time of year you might see humpback whales, dolphins and sea turtles.

Big game charter entails a 6 hour trip out to sea that can be too long for most people and costing almost one thousand dollars. The prices for small game chartering is only $60 per person.

I encourage you to be fun and adventurous and search for the nearest small game ocean charter company. If you reside in Hawaii or are coming on vacation then that company would be Go Fishing Hawaii located on the North Shore of Oahu Hawaii. you can visit them here northshore/hawaii/gofishing.asp

The Best Gift You Can Give Your Fishing Fanatic

The best gift you can give your fishing fanatic is a fishing trip with the least amount of hassles and stress. We fishing fanatics know all too well how much time and effort goes into planning one of these adventures on our own. Expert fishing business owners and guides have several types of packages they can offer. Why not purchase a packaged fishing trip that suits your needs? I have spent many hours arranging a fishing trip. Aside from taking my personal items and arranging my own transportation, I go with packages. Everything that I want has been ordered or arranged and when I arrive to cast that line, I don?t have to think about a thing.

Packages are designed to provide the fishing fanatic with every person?s situation and budget taken into consideration. There are many packages geared towards what you can afford. Packages often can include any or all of the accommodations and amenities you want. They are versatile and flexible to suit any fisherman?s idea of the ?best gift I ever got?. Here are some examples of what packages may or may not offer.

Fishing packages can be for a half-day or full day. They can be tailored for fishing trips lasting up to seven days and more. Some may include lodging and meals. If you want to join your fishing fanatic, many packages are available for double occupancy. If you?re a single fisherman and want to go it alone, accommodations can be arranged for singles as well. Some packages won?t include charter fees or taxes. Some don?t include your transportation to the state or locale you are going to fish in so be sure to read everything that is offered in the package you choose.

Reputable people in the business of providing the ultimate fishing vacations or packages will offer this advice. A package is a better deal because you don?t have to provide all the stuff. Now, unless you just have to cart that favorite fishing pole onto the plane, fishing guide businesses will have all the fishing equipment you will need. A guide will also know the ?fishing holes?. Traveling to an unknown locale to go fishing can end up with you not having caught anything. Your package and guide will be able to get you to the right fishing spots at the best times. Most of all, professional fishing business owners will always advise that you research the company you are going to purchase a package from. Know whom you are dealing with. Check their references and ask if they have insurance. Once you have found the package and the company you want, get ready for your fishing fanatic to say, ?That was the best fishing I?ve ever done.? Packages are a great gift because you want the fanatic to have the time of their lives but a time that had little stress. Isn?t that what fishing is all about?

Here are some examples of what packages may or may not offer.

Fishing packages can be for a half-day or full day. They can be tailored for fishing trips lasting up to seven days and more. Some may include lodging and meals.
